A batch is evaluated against a standard. If admitted, the specimen is given a permanent accession number and a public folio. The Collection is the record.
We built the Herbarium because we wanted a record that compounded. Not another contest, not another scorecard. A place where specimens that meet the standard are admitted, named, and kept.
