For Researchers

Researchers

Run blinded, repeatable cannabis studies on infrastructure built for it.

Sensemillier gives cannabis researchers one platform for structured, blinded evaluation: issue Evaluation Links, hold every panelist to the same rubric, capture grading data and trichome imagery together, and export it cleanly for analysis - so protocols stay consistent and findings replicate.

The Challenge

What gets in the way.

Rigorous cannabis research is hard to operationalise. Keeping a trial blinded, scoring samples consistently across panelists, capturing chemical and sensory data together, and tracking it over months usually means cobbling together spreadsheets, forms, and good intentions. The result is data that is slow to gather and difficult to defend.

How it works

Researchers with Sensemillier

Sensemillier gives researchers a single platform for structured, blinded evaluation. Issue Evaluation Links, hold every panelist to the same rubric, capture grading data and trichome imagery in one place, and export it cleanly when it is time to analyse. The protocol stays consistent, so your findings hold up and replicate.

Who it's for

Built for the way you already work.

Academic & Clinical Studies

Design blinded, randomised protocols and run them end to end, with every panelist held to the same criteria.

Longitudinal Tracking

Re-grade the same samples over months to capture how chemistry and sensory quality actually change over time.

Mixed-Methods Research

Pair HPLC and lab data with structured organoleptic grading, the way our own irradiation study did.

The detail

Built for structured, blinded evaluation

Standardised rubrics, blind conditions, image capture, and clean data export. Set up a study, collect from your panel, and pull the results out without leaving the platform.

Proven in practice

Case study: electron-beam irradiation, measured over six months

We split a single cultivar, irradiated one half at 10 kGy, and graded both samples blind on the Sensemillier platform at month one and month six. The platform made it straightforward to set up the blind protocol, collect every panelist’s scores, and pull out the grading data and trichome images in one place. The irradiated sample lost 9.67% of its total THC over that period against just 0.79% in the untreated control, alongside resin-gland degradation and microseed formation that a lab number alone would never have caught.

Common questions

Good to know.

What kinds of studies does the platform support?

Blinded, randomised sensory protocols; longitudinal re-grading of the same samples over months; and mixed-methods designs pairing lab data with structured organoleptic grading.

How is blinding maintained?

Panelists grade through Evaluation Links that expose no product metadata, and every panelist answers the identical rubric under the same conditions.

Is there a published example?

Yes - our six-month electron-beam irradiation study (blinded, randomised, controlled) ran end to end on the platform; the full PDF is linked on this page.
